This add-on connects Splunk to Hitachi VSP block storage arrays through the VSP 360 REST API. It collects configuration, performance, and synthetic metrics exposed by VSP 360 using OAuth2 client‑credentials authentication and indexes the data as structured JSON events for search, alerting, and visualization. It brings VSP 360 telemetry into Splunk to enable centralized monitoring, fleet‑wide analytics, and correlation with other infrastructure data. The add-on includes three modular inputs that automatically collect and normalize VSP 360 data into Splunk. What it collects: Configuration metrics: Storage system identity, pool capacity, LDEV attributes, port details, parity group layout, CLPR settings (sourcetype: hitachi:vspblock:config) Performance metrics: IOPS, response time, transfer rate, cache utilization, write pending, processor busy, and port throughput as timeseries data (sourcetype: hitachi:vspblock:perf) Synthetic metrics: Roll-up and derived timeseries metrics computed by VSP 360 (sourcetype: hitachi:vspblock:synth)
