This add-on provides the inputs and CIM-compatible knowledge to use Microsoft Hyper-V data with other Splunk apps, such as Splunk Enterprise Security, the Splunk App for PCI Compliance, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence. The Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Hyper-V uses Microsoft PowerShell, performance monitor and windows event logs to collect data from the Hyper-V server. Microsoft PowerShell is now natively integrated into Splunk Enterprise (Splunk Enterprise 6.3 and later) and does not require the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft PowerShell to power this collection method.
