Details
The Atlas Data Management Application provides Splunk Administrators with a comprehensive set of tools that help you with getting data into Splunk and then managing it through its lifecycle. Data Management includes an interface that allows users to request data from Splunk Administrators, inventory the data after it has been ingested and then proactively monitor the data feed once it is active.

The Atlas Data Management Application is a component of the Atlas Platform. The Atlas Platform is focused on helping Splunk owners achieve outcomes from their Splunk investment rapidly with prebuilt solutions that address common use-cases, tools that support common workflows, and automation tools that enable Splunk Admins and their Users to do more in less time. Atlas also comes with Expertise on Demand, which gives you access to Splunk experts who can assist you and your Splunk Team with building out use cases and for support of the Atlas and Splunk platforms.

Request Data
Splunk users can easily request data from Splunk Administrators usings the Request Data feature of the Data Management App. This is a convenient way for Users and Administrators to collaborate during the data onboarding process and gives Administrators a method for providing a robust set of metadata for each index sourcetype. This helps Administrators with data sprawl problems so that they can understand why the data is being ingested into Splunk and who owns it.

Data Inventory
The Data Inventory feature brings all of the ingested data sources together in one view and illuminates the events and data ingest sizing so that Administrators can see which data sources are being used.

Data Watch
The Data Watch feature is part of Data Inventory which allows Splunk Administrators to automatically setup monitoring of data sources with one click. This will allow Administrators to easily monitor and be alerted when critical data sources go offline.

Data Management
Data Management provides a User Interface for Splunk users to request and Splunk Administrator to track all data onboarding requests. From Data Management, you can review all data currently ingested into the Splunk system to give Admins visibility into the data that exists in their system. Lastly, it provides an easy way for Admins to alert upon their most critical data sources with the click of a button.
