This app provides insight into usage accounting, traffic and SLA monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management of your
Oracle Communications Session Border Controller (SBC) environment, using standard RADIUS attributes and vendor-specific attributes (VSAs). It includes fully-customizable visualizations for key KPIs like Call Success Rate and Call Quality using MOS, with the ability to view by Ingress/Egress realm, Called/Calling numbers, and more.

You can use the RADIUS records generated by your OCSBC to assist you with:

  • Usage accounting

See the calling and called parties for a call, the protocol used, the realm the call traversed (as well as local and remote IP address and port information), and the codec used

  • Traffic monitoring

You can see information about the setup, connect, and disconnect times, as well as the SIP or H.323 disconnect cause

  • SLA monitoring

The OCSBC supports RADIUS attributes that provide information about jitter, latency, and loss for H.323, SIP, and calls that require interworking between H.323 and SIP

  • Troubleshooting

Obtain information about calls that can help you to identify and address issues with quality and how calls are setup and torn down.

Prerequsites and Set-Up

  1. Send Oracle SBC CDRs to RADIUS servers - Follow the Oracle SBC Accounting guide to set up a feed of call detail records (CDRs) to your RADIUS servers
  2. Install Splunk Universal Forwarder on one or more RADIUS servers and configure to send raw CDRs to Splunk Cloud or Splunk Enterprise.
  3. Install Oracle SBC App for Splunk
