Details
Solution allows company to migrate a pre-selected set of indexes and buckets on multiple Splunk servers or clusters in one or more geographical regions simultaneously. The migration duration is configurable through the set of options for parallelization, dynamic prioritizing and bandwidth limitation of transfer channels.

The Splunk app, which comes with the solution, is deployed on the same or separate Splunk instance to track the progress of the overall Splunk indexes migration from one data center/cloud to another. The app allows migration execution to see estimates and quickly detect and troubleshoot potential issues.

  • Is it possible to migrate only part of data?

    Yes. Customization allows you to migrate certain indexers, indexes and bucket types (warm/cord).

  • How zero downtime is achievable?

    Based on customization and approach, it is possible to have zero downtime for both source and destination clusters during the migration from ingestion and searching perspectives.

  • How is searching performance affected during the migration?

    It is possible to have business and non-business hour schedules with process prioritization and bandwidth limitations. Thus, based on preliminary tests and proper planning, it can be configured not to block the users during the migration.

  • How secure is your solution?

    The solutions uses encrypted transfer channels with minimal network ports required.
