TA for Symantec endpoint protection syslogs SingleNode

Admins: Please read about Splunk Enterprise 8.0 and the Python 2.7 end-of-life changes and impact on apps and upgradeshere.
Instead of traditional log forwarding now a days companies prefer to have data at single node data lakes like logstash or data diode.
In such architecture data format gets changed. This TA can parse symantec endpoint protection (SEP) syslog data receiving from data lakes.
Also provides CIM-compatibility to use with Splunk Enterprise apps, such as Splunk Enterprise Security and the Splunk App for PCI Compliance. Required sourcetypes are below:
1) symantec_ep_syslog : This will segregate data into 12 different sourcetypes
2) symantec:ep:syslog : This will parse data under single sourcetype.

This TA can index data with 2 methods.
1) Under single sourcetype
For this assign sourcetype symantec:ep:syslog to the incoming data.
By using eventtypes data can be differentiated into 12 types.

2)Under different sourcetypes depending on type of data.
For this assign sourcetype symantec_ep_syslog to the incoming data.
It will index data under 12 different sourcetypes as per type of data.

More details of types of symantec endpoint logs is available here,
