LookingGlass Cyber Splunk App

Overview
Details
The LookingGlass Cyber LookingGlass Cyber Splunk App has been designed to display incident data from the CTC as well as the Scout platform for use with Splunk.

Installation for a single server Splunk instance

Installing with Splunk Web for a single server Splunk instance
1) From the Splunk Web home screen, click the gear icon next to Apps.
2) Click Install app from file.
3) Locate lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz and click Upload
4) If Splunk Enterprise prompts you, click Yes to restart

Installing via CLI for a single server Splunk instance
1) Upload the lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz file to the Splunk instance
2) Extract the .tar.gz file in the apps directory of Splunk. For example if your Splunk apps directory is located at /opt/splunk/etc/apps perform the following:
a) sudo tar zxvf lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz -C /opt/splunk/etc/apps
3) Restart Splunk using /opt/splunk/bin/splunk restart

Installation for a distributed server Splunk environment

Installing with Splunk Web for a distributed server Splunk environment
1) From the Splunk Web home screen on the search head, click the gear icon next to Apps.
2) Click Install app from file.
3) Locate lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz and click Upload
4) If Splunk Enterprise prompts you, click Yes to restart

Installing via CLI for a distributed server Splunk environment
1) Upload the lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz file to a search head
2) Extract the .tar.gz file in the apps directory of Splunk. For example if your Splunk apps directory is located at /opt/splunk/etc/apps perform the following:
a) sudo tar zxvf lookingglass_app_for_splunk.tar.gz -C /opt/splunk/etc/apps
3) Restart Splunk using /opt/splunk/bin/splunk restart

NOTE: The LookingGlass Cyber ScoutVision Technology Add-on and/or LookingGlass Cyber CTC Technology Add-on must be installed in order for data to get ingested into Splunk before the app will be able to display data
