Azure Event Hub Insights App for Connector

Splunk AppInspect Passed
This Azure Event Hub Insights App provides dashboards for understanding meta information regarding data that is onboarded and information on your default operational-insights-logs eventhub.

This app works with the Solsys Event Hub Connector which is in its Beta phase. To use the Connector please email sales@solsys.ca


  • Install Solsys Azure Event Hub Connector
  • Onboard data from Operational Insights Logs Event Hub

Installation Instructions:

  • In Browse Apps on your Splunk Instance search for "Azure Event Hub Insights App for Connector"
  • Restart Splunk


  • Modify the azure_eventhub_index macro to correct reflect the index the eventhub data is going to
  • Modify the azure_eventhub_op_insight_sourcetype macro to reflect the same sourcetype as the insights-operational-logs eventhub data is onboarded with


  • EventHub Meta Analysis: Meta information on eventhub data onboarded to Splunk (e.g EH namespaces/entities. ltency)
  • Operational Log Meta Insights: View all sourcetypes onboarded to eventhub index and interrogate data
  • Operational User Activity: Monitor User actions in Azure Portal
  • Operational Activity: Monitor activity types, categories and results
  • Operational VM Activity: Monitors 3 actions on VMs (start, deallocate, restart)
  • Wrapper Script Error: View errors from the Connector's wrapper script and some suggested troubleshooting steps
  • Connector Internal SAS Token: View the latest SAS token used by the connector to communicate with EH and the frequency of SAS tokens changing
