Currently the Subsurface App for Splunk is one simple app that can be installed from Splunkbase in order to bring your divelog data into Splunk.
Within subsurface, you can save your divelog as an xml file. In order to get this data into Splunk you can configure Splunk to collect that file through the Splunk GUI, or manually create an inputs.conf file. For an example of this, see below:
Create an inputs.conf file inside of $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/SubsurfaceAppforSplunk/local/inputs.conf. That file should look something like the following, except with your own specific location for your dive log.
[monitor:///Users/ryan/Documents/ryan.xml] index=subsurface sourcetype=subsurface
Though only tested on Mac OSX so far, there is no reason this app shouldn't also work on Windows.
No, you can place your logs in any index. You will however want to update the macro called subsurfaceindex. This way all panels in the app use the new index.
Squashed a bug where XML files had a Dive Site UUID with spaces which was breaking extractions
Removed need for saved search and lookups

Confirmed App works on Splunk 7.1
